Dressage A French word that means training. A discipline of riding that many refer to as ballet on horseback. Dressage involves subtle control and compulsory movements. The Grand Prix level is the Olympic level and is the highest level of dressage a horse and rider can achieve. At Sonora Farms at Sonora Creek Dressage is taught in a methodical, progressive way that will render the horse easy and enjoyable to ride in any circumstance. |

| Hunter Jumper Training “Hunter/Jumper” refers to a specific equestrian discipline or style of riding where horses are ridden English style and jump over a series of obstacles, also called fences or jumps. Within the discipline there are two distinct sub-disciplines: hunters and jumpers. Hunters show over simplified courses meant to mimic traditional hunt field obstacles and the judging is subjective. Jumpers ride over technically difficult courses that tend to twist and turn. The judging is objective and mathematical based on whether the horse knocks down a fence, stops at a fence or does not complete the course in a certain time limit. The two terms “hunter/jumper” are often used synonymously because today's horse shows offer classes in both sub-disciplines to accommodate competitors. |

Lesson Programs Lessons are based on Weekly one hour or 1/2 hour sessions and can be either private or semi-private. Group lessons are available for groups of four or less.
